When you set a date for your wedding there's an old saying that goes something like..."let the madness begin."

Once you get these organized you have laid the foundation and it's excitement plus because you will suddenly realize..."gosh, I'm getting married!"

I think that the saltwater taffy sounds like a really cute idea, as do the mints. I've seen those in several different styles and you can pick a font or design that looks kind of retro, so it will go with your theme too.

As for bridal party gifts, you might try going to antique stores. I know that makes most people think of like, 1800s or so, but they have a lot of really cool stuff. There and at flea markets, you could find some authentic 1950s stuff like really cool postcards you can frame or other types of memorabilia. Same with the groomsmen, they might have different types of glasses or mugs that are a little retro looking too. And that way you know that everything you are getting is very unique. Good luck!

Church Decorations??

The church where we're having our wedding does not have seats. It has straight-back chairs that are attached in rows and do not have armrests. They are very neutral and not all ugly. However, since there is not much to unite bonds or flowers, what can we do to decorate the hall? My dress has a fairly wide and long train, so anything on the floor can hit. If anyone has any idea, especially pictures, really appreciate it. I prefer floral decorations tulle or ribbon, so if anyone can think of creative ways to connect to the presidents of flowers or something that would be great! Thank you!

You could decorate chairs in the hallway before packing wide satin ribbon in your wedding color (s) around the back of the chair (which sits in your back against) and tie it in a knot loose on the side of the chair (the closest to the hallway). You can do what we did, and take a single stem flower (tulips in my case) and slide the stem of the tulip in the knot of the ribbon and let the ends of the strip curtain down on the stem. It ends with a beautiful flower decoration simple piece of tape which is super easy and cheap. You can also ask the florist if you can provide with some water pipes made of plastic. The ends of the ribbons hang down and cover the tube also.

Wedding favor ideas?

My fiance and I are getting married in April in Las Vegas and we're having a reception here in Ohio when we get home. Obviously we're already spending a fortune on the wedding so we're looking for inexpensive favor ideas. Our colors are red, black and white. We're working hard to tie the vegas wedding into our reception. Our cake will be decorate in fondant cutouts of hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The tables will be decorate with cards, poker chips, and dice instead of flowers.
