Silver Resin
i want to buy a piccolo... need help?
hey i'm beginner at piccolo. i want to buy a piccolo. having budget USD900 or below.
the thing is, i don't understand about feature in piccolo. like what's both the advantage and disadvantage of piccolo made of plastic, nickle silver, resin, and grenadilla wood? does the material in piccolo head affect the sound? what's the effect?
what kind of piccolo is recommended for beginner like me. it's not intended for professional use. thanks
All resin ( sometimes called composition, plastic, or a proprietary name like Grenaditte). These can be played indoors and outdoors with no problems, and are NOT as nasty as all-metal. A wooden (grenadilla or other wood) picc will not stand up to marching band/outdoor playing, and is usullay out of a beginner's price range anyway.
I hope you are a good flutist FIRST - the picc is very hard to control unless you have a SOLID flute embouchure and good lip flexibility and octave change control.
Models" Look at the Jupiter at www.fluteworld.com. Browse around the site, looking all all-plastic ones. NEVER EVER EVER buy anything off eBay!!! EVER!!!!!!!!! Good luck - have fun - PROTECT YOUR EARS!
